Day 1: Sailing Around Mallorca A short taxi ride from the airport will take you to the new VOYAGE Charters base located at the new Alboran marina on the Paseo Maritimo, in the heart of the city of Palma. Upon arrival at the base, VOYAGE staff will welcome you. In the delightful surroundings of the Grand Cathedral of Palma, you can board your yacht and experience the thorough and informative charter briefing offered by the VOYAGE staff. They will help you with an itinerary and tell you about the various provisioning options available if you have not already stocked the boat.
Later in the evening stroll into the La Llonja district of Palma and explore some of the enchanting tapas bars and quality restaurants. There is always something happening in Palma! Ask your VOYAGE representative to tell you about the latest happening venues and events.
Day 2: After a breakfast of traditional Mallorcan ensaimada or fresh croissants, set sail from the Bay of Palma towards the beautiful secluded anchorage of Cala Pi for lunch (+/- 3.5-hour sail). On your journey you will pass by the nature reserve island of Cabrera, and you may be lucky enough to spot dolphins along this stretch of coastline.
The crystal clear waters of Cala Pi will entice you to swim from your yacht to the beach, where you take a stroll up to the village or even set up your own game of beach volleyball – it really is a quite little haven! After lunch, sail to Es Trenc (+/- 2.5-hour sail), one of Mallorca´s most famous beachs, for its five-mile stretch of fine white sands and aqua blue waters.
Day 3: Make today an early start! Set sail for Porto Cristo – the home of the Caves! (+/- 3.5-hour sail). The caves are a short walk away from the lively Porto Cristo harbor and are well worth a visit. Inside you can admire Martel lake, one of the largest underground lakes in the world. There, concerts of classical music are performed daily. From Porto Cristo, take a sail further around the island to Cap de Formentor (+/- 4-hour sail). The whole coast here is dotted with coves and alternating beaches overlooked by pine woods. By evening, your journey should bring you to Pollenca and Formentor. The countryside between Port de Pollenca and Formentor is unforgettable - it is the most scenic spot on Mallorca. Take a stroll around the artistic town of Pollenca and visit the interesting treasure gallery and austere convent. If you are here in August, the International Music festival is held within the convent, which is spectacular! Anchor off the exclusive tiny island of Cap de Formentor.
Day 4: Sail to Sa Calobra and view some of the most staggering wild landscapes (+/- 3-hour sail). Take your yacht into the mouth of Sa Colabra and admire the Torrent de Pareis, a 4km descending twisting road known as the tie knot. The torrent joins the sea between two colossal bare rocks and its course carves out a deep gully whose depth varies between 300 and 400 meters. After lunch, sail to Port SÖller (+/- 1.5-hour sail) and view the modernist architecture of the parish church or take a tram ride up to the town of Soller from the port. Take an evening stroll along the beach before dining aboard your yacht or sitting down to eat at one of the many open air cafes in this delightful little village.
Day 5: A morning sail takes you along the coast to Deia (+/- 1.5-hour sail). Anchor off in a small secluded cala at the tip of the famous actor, Michael Douglas´s house. Deia is surrounded by wonderful scenery, its stone houses nestling in a valley, and its steep streets lined with well tended gardens and olive groves. Deia has a lovely cove, and its small beach, although not sandy, is bathed by beautifully clean water and is fantastic for snorkeling. After lunch, sail to the Island of Sa Dragonera, which is stretched out in the water like a lizard basking in the sun. Opt to do just that or for the more energetic, take a dive or snorkel in the dazzling blue water and explore some of the hidden coves. Your evening will be spent in the charming old fishing village of Port d’ Andratx (+/- 2.5-hour sail from Deia). Sit back and relax taking in the beauty of the Port and watch out for the outstanding sunset over the islands of Sa Dragonera. After dinner, take a walk along the quay and up to Sa Mola, which is an exclusive area favoured by well-known personalities from the world of politics, art and the aristocracy. Visit the 16th century watch tower, which warned locals of the pirate raids or for the night owls among the group, Tims bar is a favorite watering hole for the boating crowd.
Day 6: After a wholesome breakfast, take a morning coastal sail East to the beautiful anchorage of Camp de Mar (+- 1-hour sail). This beautiful setting is a great place to have lunch before sailing onto the overnight anchorage of Portals Vells (+/- 2.5-hour sail). Its quiet, relatively uncrowded beach contrasts with the bustle and activity of the beaches which you will pass by, which makes it a perfect place for those who wish to get away from a crowd. Its turquoise waters and aromatic pine clad hills provide the perfect setting for an evening BBQ on your yacht.
Day 7: After a leisurely breakfast, sail or motor around to the bay of Illetas, passing the “Beverley Hills” marina of Puerto Portals (+/- 1-hour sail/motor). The new beach bar of La Solana is a must and you can have a massage under the palm trees while the waiters serve you cold champagne and exotic fruit – it really is decadent! After lunch, the final leg of the journey takes you back to the VOYAGE base in the capital city of Palma for your last evening (+/- 45-minute sail/motor). Spend the evening enjoying the colorful city of Palma and visit the impressive 14th century Gothic Cathedral, which rises above the ancient walls of Palma.
The Arab baths, museums and old cobbled streets of La Loncha are well worth a visit. Walk the famous flower selling promenade named La Rambla, and shop till you drop on the Avinguada Juame III, Palma´s elegant avenue lined with chic boutiques and quaint old chocolate shops. If you’re a keen golfer you might want to get a round of golf in at one of the highly acclaimed 22 golf courses on the island.
Your last evening will be spent in Palma, so make sure you’ve got your party shoes on, as the nightlife goes on until the early hours of the morning. From Salsa bars, to Jazz clubs, to old traditional Spanish fincas housing Opera and Classical music to the more famous nightclubs of Titos and Pashas. Many a weekend, there are pop concerts and events held in the Palma bull ring, with performers such as Sting, Van Morrison and Ricky Martin.
Day 8: After breakfast aboard your yacht or ashore at the famous Cappuchino Café in Palma, your VOYAGE representative will meet you on board at 10:00am for the final handover and to hear how you have enjoyed saiing around this incredible island and to say … farewell until the next time!
